SAP ERP Business Transformation

Cardinal Health: Largest SAP ERP Deployment

Background

Navigator Management Partners worked with Cardinal Health to deploy the largest SAP EPR business transformation solution in the world at that time. Navigator was involved in the program from its inception in 2014 through the rollout of multiple business units in early 2017. Navigator resources played significant roles in eight areas of the business transformation; Project Management, Implementing Tools and Methodologies, Organizational Change Management, Functional and User Acceptance Testing, Training, Functional Integration and Data Conversion. This complex effort impacted over 1,600 Cardinal Health business solution experts and stakeholders across the country in seven business units where legacy systems were being phased out across call centers, distribution centers, sales support and ordering processes, and financial accounting functions.

Approach

The Navigator team successfully led nine Cardinal Health work stream groups through 16,000 requirements, resulting in the creation of 1,366 object designs; creation and execution of 1,064 test scripts; identification and resolution of 14,000 defects and 2,700 change requests; development of 960 training objects; and execution of 26,000 mock conversions in support of five Go-Lives. Along with determining and executing tasks, Navigator Management Partners provided expert analysis to help in the realization of efficient, streamlined processes for day to day business activities while safeguarding the culture of each business unit. Navigator’s experience and knowledge has allowed Cardinal Health to achieve the goal of providing improved efficiency via better integration between a complex ordering function and back office processes.
