Successful SAP Implementation at BMW Financial Services
BMW Financial Services (BMW FS) engaged Navigator Management Partners to implement SAP FICA and FICO for the Financials for Extended Products and Services (FEPS) project. Navigator was the primary system integrator tasked with completing this SAP ERP system implementation that would act as the financial accounting foundation, serving the core finance business in the Americas region.
BMW FS developed an in-house custom contract and account management system for automotive financing by extending a Siebel CRM system through the use of Microsoft .Net technologies to implement numerous customizations. For more than 15 years this platform has evolved while supporting extended growth for the US and Canada markets. The newly aligned FS Americas region requires one extensible platform to support the US, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, and Argentina markets; thus, requiring a modernization of said systems by leveraging COTS software products and standardized processes. Navigator assembled a team of SAP experts responsible for planning, designing, and implementing the FEPS project based on the SAP FI-CAx billing, invoicing, and payment system for BMW FS Dealers in the US market.
This effort included the implementation of a new SAP system, integrating said system with various BMW Group systems with a combined 12 interfaces, building eight functional extensions, three forms, and three custom reports. The system was implemented successfully on January 1, 2014.
The FEPS program received the following recognitions:
- Recognized internally by BMW Group as “One of the most successful and trouble-free SAP system implementation projects at BMW”
- Recognized internally by BMW Group IT Process Quality Management as being fully compliant with the BWM Group IT Project Model methodology
