EHE Merge Assessment - Strategy

Identifying Opportunities at The Ohio State University

Background

The College of Education and Human Ecology (EHE) was formed after merging the College of Education with the College of Human Ecology, making it the second largest college at The Ohio State University. As the number of faculty, staff, and students increased, so did the demand for information technology services provided by the Office of Technology and Enhanced Learning (OTEL), the IT arm of the College of EHE.

Approach

Navigator Management Partners was engaged to conduct an assessment of the EHE IT organization to assess the overall effectiveness in the areas of people, organization, process, and technology, including help desk support, website application development, website support, and instructional technology.

Results

Navigator Management Partners worked closely with stakeholders and university personnel to conduct interviews, collect data, and analyze existing documentation to discover key findings and risks and identify opportunities for improvement. The assessment also included documenting an understanding of the IT processes within OTEL.
