What Not to Miss at Workday Rising

By: Melissa Prusher
Anyone who’s been to a previous Workday Rising conference knows it is a cross between homecoming and a family reunion. Every year the community comes together to share solutions to complex challenges, explore what’s possible with technology, and get inspired by what the future holds. The energy at Workday Rising is amazing and there is nothing better than seeing familiar faces, whether it is the individuals we interact with regularly or those we know from more than ten years working in the ecosystem.
We’re excited for Workday leaders to take the stage and share their vision and how they are bringing the commitment to continuous innovation to life. The Workday Rising 2018 keynote focused on planning, financial management, HCM and, of course, the acquisition of Adaptive analytics. This year is all about leveraging the “Power of One” effectively, with a broader focus on putting people first and helping them navigate new technology and processes.
Attendees will learn what’s new in products such as Workday Financial Management, Workday Human Capital Management, Payroll and Workforce Management and more. While its core Execute offering (Workday HCM and Workday FIN) continues to be of interest, we’re excited to hear Workday’s expanded vision and the role Plan and Analyze play in the customer journey, as well as acceleration around supply chain.

With innovation at the forefront, it also means that organizational change management is likely to be on top of everyone’s mind. Everyone will leave Workday Rising fired up to put what they learn into action. Those serious about transformation will want to think proactively about change and have a change management strategy.
Since we’ve sponsored or attended Workday Rising in the past, here are a few things we know will happen at the 2019 Workday Rising conference:
Workday Co-founder and CEO Aneel Bhusri will deliver a riveting keynote and update on how the cloud SaaS vendor is taking on the industry heavyweights. Our favorite part of the conference is hearing the business strategy and product vision and how the cloud is transforming the way we consume and deliver business applications. Last year’s address highlighted how high-performing companies invest in culture and the strong financial results they have gained. It was exciting to learn about updates to the products that are helping customers plan, execute, and analyze, all from a single system. Innovations in partnerships and innovation in technology are sure to top this year’s talking points – and we’re ready to continue the conversation.
Everyone will want to know how to get the most out of their investment in Workday. Training sessions, hands-on labs, roundtable discussions, and other workshops make up the robust session catalog. Workday Rising is a great way to learn about product enhancements, how other organizations achieved successful Workday deployments, and derived greater value from technology investments. There’s so much collective wisdom and great insight to take back and put into action. The Avaap (Navigator) team of Workday consultants will be in booth #120 as a Signature Partner at Workday Rising and available to talk about Workday consulting and enhancement support for HCM, Financials, Student, and analytics.
Peer-to-peer engagement will power knowledge exchange. Want to learn how other companies are bringing transformation to their organizations through rollout and adoption of Workday cloud financials and HCM software? Go beyond the experts - there are plenty of people to ask all your questions! Collaboration and connection are key reasons we go to Workday Rising each year and we know that’s what appeals to our customers, too. With so much happening across industries, the knowledge conference attendees gain from each other is incredibly valuable.
There’s a rich after-hours experience. The Orange County Convention Center may be home to the main event, but when the lights go down, plenty of Workday Rising attendees will head into Orlando for time at the theme parks, quiet business dinners or one of the many social events. You’ll find our team pool side hosting a fun-filled happy hour at one of the hottest spots in the sunshine state. Not on our guest list? Send a request to events@avaap.com that you want in!
Navigator (now Avaap) is a Signature Partner Sponsor at Workday Rising, the largest gathering of Workday customers, prospective customers, partners, industry and financial analysts, and members of the Workday team.
